 BIOGRAPHY

Justin Bui is a student in the School of Engineering and Applied Science majoring in Chemical Engineering. He was raised in Northern Virginia and began percussion at age 11. He was the winner of the 2014 Mid Atlantic Percussion Society Individual and Ensemble Marimba Competition. This past year, he had the opportunity to perform his own arrangement of Makoto Ozone's Times Like These in Lincoln Center’s Rose Studio at the 2018 Intercollegiate Chamber Music Festival. As a composer, he is an active composer/arranger for marching percussion, being the battery and front ensemble composer/arranger for Clinton High School Marching Band (Clinton, SC) and the front ensemble arranger for the Cornell Independent Indoor Drumline (Ithaca, NY).

All events are sponsored by Columbia University's Music Performance Program and are free and open to the public.

Mid-Day Music @ Columbia offers live music to a general audience, following the tradition established by Aaron Warner and Isidor Isaac Rabi, great lovers of music whose memories live on at Faculty House.
