 BIOGRAPHY

Peter Rutkowski is a rising Columbia College sophomore from Granger, Indiana, studying Financial Economics. Since the age of five, he's been pursuing classical piano, and he currently studies with Dr. Dmitry Alexeev. In the Music Performance Program, Peter is an active performer for Music Humanities Classes and for the Chamber Players Carnegie Hall Series. He's studied at such institutions as the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, University of Notre Dame, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and Colburn Conservatory, and he's performed across the United States as featured soloist and competition winner. Recently, he's won first prize in the Concert Festival International Competition, Bradshaw & Buono International Competition, and Symphony of the Lakes Concerto Competition. Peter also serves as an organist for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. At Columbia, Peter is on the board of the Journal of Politics & Society, the past president of John Jay Hall Council, and a consultant for 180 Degrees Consulting. He was recently named a Laidlaw Scholar, the recipient of a two-year international leadership and research fellowship.
