 Come join us in the Garden Room at Faculty House, where Students and Music Associates from Columbia University's Music Performance Program will be showcased in a noontime recital series.

Biography

Sam Klein-Markman is a senior at Columbia University studying Political Science and music. He has won numerous composition and performance awards including Downbeat Student Music Awards for Best Orchestrated Composition and Best Composition and Best High School Combos. He performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival with his Berkeley High Combo and the SFJAZZ High School All-Stars, which won the Monterey Next Generation Festival. His music studies took him to Cuba last fall, where he studied Cuban percussion and tres at Havana’s ISA (Instituto Superior De Arte). This group will be playing some of his originals as well as some other tunes they like!


All events are sponsored by Columbia University's Music Performance Program and are free and open to the public.

Mid-Day Music @ Columbia offers live music to a general audience, following the tradition established by Aaron Warner and Isidor Isaac Rabi, great lovers of music whose memories live on at Faculty House.
