About Pop/Contemporary
The electric guitar and electric bass guitar are ubiquitous instruments across contemporary music genres, and have been at the forefront of musical creativity since their invention. There are seemingly endless stylistic and technical practices which can be studied and imitated, yet there are no “right” ways to play these instruments. Thus, students taking electric guitar and electric bass lessons will not only be charged to improve and expand on techniques within their preferred style, but will explore contrasting practices in tandem. Students will also be charged to develop their personal techniques and apply them through their own compositions, improvisations, and songwriting.
