BIOGRAPHY
Nikki Pet (CC '20) began learning clarinet at age 10, and is currently studying with Alan Kay through the Columbia-Juilliard Exchange. Nikki has performed with orchestras including the Boston Youth Symphony, Juilliard Pre-College Symphony, New York Youth Symphony, NAfME All-National Orchestra, and Connecticut Youth Symphony. Nikki has also attended summer programs including the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, where she played with the Young Artists Wind Ensemble and Orchestra, and Greenwood Music Camp, where she performed works including the Brahms and Mozart clarinet quintets, and Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time. In high school, Nikki received various solo and chamber competition prizes, including 1st place (winds) in the 2016 Hartford Music Club High School Competition, top prize in the 2015 International Grande Music Competition, and first prize in the 2015 Korean Radio Broadcast Competition.
Currently, Nikki is a sophomore at Columbia University, pursuing a joint degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. She is also part of several chamber groups through Columbia and Juilliard.
All events are sponsored by Columbia University's Music Performance Program and are free and open to the public.
Mid-Day Music @ Columbia offers live music to a general audience, following the tradition established by Aaron Warner and Isidor Isaac Rabi, great lovers of music whose memories live on at Faculty House.
