Susan Palma-Nidel's new recording, titled Foi Por Ela ("It was because of her"), is complete. Arranged and produced by Gil Goldstein, the music was recorded in Lisboa, mixed by Dave Darlington at Bass Hit Studios in NYC, and mastered by Mark Wilder at SONY in NYC.

In July 2017, following Susan’s highly acclaimed Lisboa Intima CD, Pedro and Ruca traveled to New Hampshire. where they performed with Susan and the North Country Chamber Players for two sold out performances of music from Lisboa Intima as well as new material, now recorded on Foi Por Ela.
Concerts in New England with Pedro, Ruca and other musicians on the recording are planned for late August 2018.
THE MUSIC AND THE RECORDING
Foi Por Ela focuses on new interpretations of major compositions by the most important Portuguese composers of the last 50 years, including Fausto, Carlos Paredes, Paulo de Carvalho, Sergio Godinho, Zeca Afonso, and Pedro Jóia.
Once again, Estudios Namouche in Lisboa was the site of the recording from October 16-20, 2017. Susan joined forces with the great Gil Goldstein who produced, arranged and played on the record in Lisboa. We were surprised and honored when the reclusive, iconic Fausto eagerly came to the sessions to perform on two tracks at the suggestion of our great friend Né Ladeiras. The roster of musicians joining Susan and Gil also included Ricardo Ribeiro and Né Ladeiras, vocals; Pedro Jóia, guitar; José Manuel Neto, guitarra Portuguesa; Ruca Rebordão, percussion, berimbau; Carlos Barretto, double bass and Sandra Martins, cello & clarinet.
