Opportunities to study the ancient court music of Japan are rare, as are opportunities to hear it, so come hear the Hogaku and Gagaku ensembles in their end-of-semester performance!

The Japanese Gagaku/Hogaku Program, a unique offering at Columbia, is a  joint initiative of the Department of Music, the Music Performance Program, the Center for Ethnomusicology, and the Institute for Medieval Japanese Studies at Columbia University.
